We are officially back from a week long sprint at Disneyland and we couldn’t be happier. Yes, it might be the happiest place on earth, but it’s also the most exhausting place especially if you have kiddos. We enjoyed the sights, walked only about a million steps and ate some incredible food! I was enjoying myself 100% and aimed to try something new everywhere we went. I can’t wait to share the yummy meals and treats we enjoyed, and share with you where you can find them on your next trip to Disneyland. Enjoy!!

Black Tap

Fried Mozzarella with a spicy dipping sauce
The Texan Burger

On Thursday, we got in about 4 pm so it was dinner time. We ended up checking into our hotel and heading to Downtown Disney. If you’ve never been, DTD is an awesome chance to enjoy Disney before you actually pay to get into the parks. It’s essentially an area of the park that has dining, shopping and lots of Disney style. They are playing music and have live entertainment as well. It’s also a great place to take a break from the parks but still get a dose of Disney magic. We decided to try a brand new restaurant called Black Tap. It has burgers, salads, chicken sandwiches AND hand crafted milk shake creations! It was so fun seeing the people around us order these beautifully created shakes and enjoyed the one we got even more! Here is what we enjoyed:

  • Mom: The Texan Burger and sweet potato fries. This delicious burger came with bacon, aged cheddar, a crispy onion ring, Rays BBQ sauce and mayo. I upgraded for $2 to get the sweet potato fries.
  • Dad: Fried Mozzarella and the Onion Rings
  • Kiddos: Both had the crispy chicken tender meal with french fries
  • Dessert: Brooklyn Blackout- Chocolate Shake with a Chocolate Frosted Rim with Mini Chocolate Chips topped with two Chocolate Brownies, Whipped Cream and Chocolate Drizzle

This restaurant, like anything else at Disney, was definitely more on the expensive side, but a complete experience. We loved it and can’t wait to go back again.

The Pizza Press

This pizza shop was attached to our hotel, which made it very easy to get our morning coffee and breakfast. The pizza was made very quickly which was nice and convenient. When you get there, you choose a handcrafted Pizza Press original (or breakfast food as well), or you can hand pick your ingredients. They would take the dough and press it between two large metal plates, as opposed to hand tossing it. Once it’s pressed to the right thickness, they add the sauce and the veggies/meat and send it through the oven. On the other end, they add the finishing sauces or ingredients and you’re good to go. They also had a full array of beers and sangria along with juice and a soda fountain. The first time we went, we got breakfast and here’s what we ordered:

  • Kiddos: Mickey pancakes with chocolate milk. Note to self, order one kids meal because they came with two large pancakes; Could have easily been shared.
  • Mom: French toast with fruit and coffee
  • Dad: Breakfast burrito and coffee.

We assumed it would be more expensive then Denny’s, but it was considerably cheaper. Always try and eat at your hotel when you can.

Chronicle

We also came here for lunch that day too and had the most delicious pizza:

  • Kiddos: They split The Daily with half cheese and half pepperoni.
  • Mom: Chronicle with olive oil, mozzarella, artichoke hearts, tomatoes, mushrooms, goat cheese, roasted red peppers, red onion and finished with basil and pesto. I split this with my mother in law and we both had sangria.
  • Dad: The Post with sausage and pepperoni. We also had the Garlic Cheesy Bread to share. I’ll be honest, I didn’t enjoy the taste of the garlic bread. Not sure if it was the cheese the spices.

Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs

Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs

Friday night we were at DTD again with my Mother-in law who had just gotten in that afternoon, and we weren’t planning to go to the parks until Monday, so we enjoyed dinner there and got to watch the fireworks from our table. We enjoyed some massive corn dogs from Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs (located right outside the LEGO Store), and then headed over to a seating area between Tortilla Joe’s and the bowling alley. It was nice because we were away from the crowds so the kiddos could run around and get their wiggles out while listening to the live band play. It was also the perfect spot to see the fireworks so it was a great dinner spot. We enjoyed a couple different corn dogs:

  • Kiddos: Two Kid Dogs with chips and sprite.
  • Grownups: Classic Corn Dogs
Largest corn dog ever

I recommend this spot for a quick and easy meal or snack. They had a couple different types I hadn’t heard of like the Golden Dragon and the Hot Link so you definitely have something for everyone.

Cars Land

Flo’s Cafe

Saturday we decided to go into the parks early and spent the day at California Adventure. For lunch, we were already in Cars Land so we decided to check out a couple of those places. I’ve gotta say, Disney has definitely stepped up their food options and I am here for it:

  • Kiddos: They both had Mac & Cheese with fries from Flo’s Cafe
  • Grandma and Dad: Turkey Club with fries from Flo’s Cafe
  • Mom: Hot Chicken Cone from Cozy Cone #3. It was delicious with chicken tossed in buffalo sauce, ranch dressing and a carrot/celery garnish, all wrapped in a soft pretzel cone. It comes with blue cheese but I had them leave that off. I highly suggest asking for extra ranch dressing as mine seemed to only be in the bottom of the cone, and there wasn’t much.

I decided to break up all our food choices into 2 separate posts, so I’m going to stop here. The first half of our trip was so amazing and I can’t wait for you to check out the rest of our tasty adventures. It will go up next week, so make sure you are subscribed so you don’t miss it!! I love you guys, and i’ll see you soon!
