When it comes to cleaning, I do much better when I have a visual to look at. If I just wing it and go to clean our home, I will get distracted and end up watching Netflix for 7 hours. When I created my life-changing weekly cleaning checklist, I needed something that tells me exactly what needs to be done to make our home look and feel the way I want it to. I run my day, my day doesn’t run me. I then wanted to make it available to YOU, so that you could take control as well, and clean right along with me! Stay tuned till the end to be able to download this checklist!

The Tasks

I broke up my tasks by time of day: morning, afternoon and evening. Then I added my Weekly Cleaning Routine tasks as well, and it really helps to see them all on one page. If you’d like a weekend routine too, please let me know down below and I’ll whip it up! When I see that all I have to do is my morning routine, the rest of the day doesn’t seem so daunting! Now, lets get to cleaning together, while I share the different tasks.

Morning

  • Empty/Load dishwasher– I do this first thing in the morning and it really helps start my day off. I unload it and load JUST the morning (or night before) dishes.
  • Make beds/bring all laundry to laundry room– I make all the beds in our home as well as bring the dirty laundry into the laundry room.
  • Pickup bathrooms– Put tooth paste back, pick up towels, etc. Whatever I need to do to tidy up this space.
  • Wipe down bathroom counters/toilets– I quickly take a disinfectant wipe, or rag, and wipe down the counters, sinks and toilets so they are germ free. This is not deep cleaning, just upkeep.
  • Start load of laundry– Now i get started on my laundry for the day. Besides my larger laundry days on Monday and Tuesday, I try to do at least one load of laundry a day.
  • Clutter check– I walk around the house and make sure all the clutter is picked up.

And that’s it for the morning! Once those tasks are done, I can relax, get some blog work done and spend time with my little ones! The afternoon starts up about 1 PM with my next set of tasks.

Afternoon

  • Load dishes into dishwasher- I will load all dishes that we’ve collected during the morning and such, into the dishwasher.
  • Wipe down kitchen counters- I take a few minutes to quickly wipe down the kitchen counters.
  • Switch over laundry to dryer- This is the time I get that load from the morning into the dryer.
  • Prep for dinner- I pull out all the items I need for dinner that night, onto the counter.
  • Pickup in backyard, if you have one- I scoop poop, pick up toys and trash.
  • Fold and put laundry away- Once that dryer is finished, I fold and put that load away. Then I’m done with laundry for that day.
  • Clutter Check- I will quickly pick up anything that was out and around the house.

This is also the time that Brooklynn gets home from school, so I’m also helping with homework and fixing after school snacks. I try to be present at this time, but I usually will sit again and relax for a bit before the dinner rush starts. Then it’s onto my evening routine.

Evening

  • Start Dinner
  • Clean up kitchen from dinner- get the table cleared and all leftovers put away
  • Wipe down counters
  • Get dishes finished and loaded
  • Start dishwasher
  • Family Time– sit down and spend sometime with your family
  • Reset home for the next day and sweep kitchen– Close windows, make sure all clutter is picked up
  • Wash out sink and take out trash
  • Start coffee for next morning

My evening routine really helps to set the tone for the next morning. If I don’t get this finished, then my morning feels rushed and out of control. One thing that helped with this printable is to laminate(here is the newer model of mine) it so I can easily wipe off my finished tasks for the day, and get ready for the next. I also have my daughters on the fridge too so she can keep track of her chores as well! I hope you enjoy my Life-Changing Weekly Cleaning Checklist, and if you use it make sure to tag me so I can cheer you on!
