Do you struggle with where you store your kitchen cloths and towels? Do they seem to always get crowded and cluttered? Today I am sharing with you my kitchen drawer organization with the hopes that it offers you some peace and calm in your hectic and chaotic kitchen.
One of my most accessed places in our kitchen is our washcloth and dishcloth drawers. that is where you find my cloths I use every day to clean the kitchen, and the ones I use to dry our dishes. It’s also where I have the rags for everyday messes as well. I thought it would be so fun to give you a peek into that area, show you exactly how I fold them and how they are all neatly organized 80% of the time! I will also be sharing my new favorite washcloths WITH a discount just for my readers!!! For some more kitchen organizational inspiration, hop on over to my Pantry Organizing post.
Where To Store Kitchen Towels
To the left of our kitchen sink, we have three drawers. The top is for my washcloths and dish drying towels, the middle is for the towels I lay my dishes on to air dry and the ones I hang from my stove. It’s also where I put extra rags for everyday messes. To be honest, I have no use for the third drawer as I am sitting here writing this post, but it’s always nice to have a bit of extra, unused space.
Which Dishcloths I Use and Love
Recently on Instagram, I shared a new set of dishcloths that were sent to me from Emerging Green. They are made from 100% Bamboo Fiber and SOOOO soft. Even though they are soft, they have great scrubbing power because of the texture of the fabric. Reminds me of muslin cloths and I am here for it! You get 20 in a pack for $21 and I am loving that price! My number one piece of advice is DO NOT PUT THEM IN THE DRYER. They will shrink up, so make sure to let them air dry! But I love these cloths because they work great AND are so pretty with the lime green detailing.
Emerging Green carries a wide product range and will be launching even more products in 2021. They are a lifestyle company with an eye on sustainability. Currently, 70% of their products are made of environmentally friendly material and they are striving to do better here. One of their goals is to substitute daily consumer products with greener alternatives.
They have been so kind as to offer YOU a discount code to give these cloths a try for yourself! I love them and only share products that I use and believe in. Head on over to the link posted above and check them out. If you love them as much as I do, make sure to tag me on Instagram so I can jump for joy right along with you! Once you click the link for the cloths, you can use code XIRAFGA9 for 10% off and that runs till 10/11/2020 so make sure to snag them while you can!!!
Air Drying Vs Dishwasher
This is something that I have always battled with. Growing up, my grandmother had a dishwasher, but never even used it. She probably stored sweaters in there for all I know! She took the time to handwash each dish one by one and I would always dry them with her. I miss her every day, but I’m so blessed that I learned to love this task from such a young age.
Now, I LOVE hand drying dishes but I do NOT love washing them! I do about half and half. Usually, I’m only ever handwashing things like my fancy knives or mugs that can’t be in the dishwasher. But other then that, I try to get as much in there as I can!
I have cloths that I put under my air-dry dishes and those live in the second drawer, along with my towels I hang on my stove. I would love to know if you hand wash or put everything in the dishwasher! Let me know down below!
Organizational Ideas
For me, just folding my towels a certain way and designating a specific drawer for them works best!! But I love seeing organizational bins and containers as well! I’ve included below a few blog posts with great examples and ideas!! Which is your favorite?
