I have always been a coffee drinker, so I needed a method that allowed that, while still getting the job done. When I found out that it wasn’t going to hinder my end results, I was so happy. I stocked up on some metal straws and got started!
Beginning Process
First step was to get my teeth fitted for my trays. The #1 recommended teeth whitening method is using custom-fitted whitening trays. That ensures that every angle of each tooth receives even and consistent coverage of the whitening gel. And it doesn’t matter whether your teeth are straight or not, and since I didn’t wear my retainer when I was little, my bottom row is definitely not straight anymore.
When I received my box, it included my mold solution, the impression trays and the teeth whitening/sensitizing solution. The impressions were so simple to do and once sent in, they were back out a few days later.
Whitening Process
Once I received my custom fit trays, I began the whitening process. It was easiest for me to do it at night once the day was over. My kids also loved the way I talked with them in (lisping was my second language during my whitening sessions). They say you can whiten anywhere from 45 minutes to 3 hours depending on your sensitivity. Since whitening your teeth can make them more sensitive, I was very hesitant to try the solution the first night. But surprisingly, I felt no pain at all, which was a plus!
Honestly, I didn’t use the desensitizing gel as much, so I definitely recommend using it every time. You only keep it on for 15-20 minutes so it doesn’t take too long. I used the whitening solution for 3 hours every night for 2 weeks and definitely had extra sensitivity issues after. When I do this again, I will only do it for an hour each night and for less time. I now know my limits, BUT it got the job done and I LOVE the results. But that is personal preference!! Not only did it whiten my teeth, but I feel it just evened out the color of my teeth too.
Final Results
I am thrilled with my results and happy to know that I have a lot of solution left over, so I can easily do it again in a few months. This process was so easy, and my rep for the company made this so much fun! She was there for me with any questions and was so supportive. The best part was when she really paid attention to my needs and such, like my sensitivity issues and past dental work.
