Is there just not enough time during the day to get everything done? Need ideas for a good routine and a list of your daily tasks you need to complete to keep your day running smoothly? I have created a stress-free printable daily to-do list to help you get those daily tasks done that help keep your home clean for at least a small amount of time.

Lately, our home has become a massive black hole for toys, dishes, and trash. I can never seem to get on top of keeping it tidy and I started to let go of some of the control. But it comes to a point where there has to be some sort of routine, or it will never get better.

Last year I created a daily to-do list with everything you should be doing during the day to help things run smoother. And by everything, I mean everything.

Absolutely everything.

Not only did it overwhelm me and my anxiety filled head, but I’m sure it didn’t help any of you either. So that is why I decided to redo it and make it work for both you and me. I am very excited about how it turned out and wanted to explain it a bit so you aren’t going in completely blind. If you would like to download it for FREE, click the link below and you can access it right from your computer. I laminated mine and now I can easily erase it at the end of the day.

DISCLAIMER: I do NOT do everything thing every day, but I try my best. And as Kimmy says from She’s In Her Apron, progress over perfection. For more cleaning inspiration, make sure to check out my Cleaning Product Must-Haves post.

Morning Tasks

Mornings are so strange right now with distance learning, working full time, and trying to keep my head above water. But it can also be the time of day that I get the most done. Here are the tasks I try and complete every morning, and I love that they are so flexible. Sometimes I don’t get around to these things till later in the day, and that is alright! You do you, boo.

  • Get Dressed– I always feel so much better when I get out of my jammies and put myself together. If I’m at least able to put some real pants on, I feel much better.
  • Make the Bed– Making our bed has been such a game-changer. Even if I don’t get around to other things in the room, at least the bed looks nice and inviting. And that usually inspires me to clean up the rest of the room too.
  • Shine Sink (Do the Dishes)– I never realized how good it felt to shine my sink. If I am able to get the dishes done the night before, I give it another good scrub that morning. Or, I will get the leftover dishes done that morning and then I’m ready for the rest of the day.
  • 1 Load of Laundry– Getting one load washed each day is a great way to stay up on it.
  • Wipe Down the Sink & Toilet– I like to quickly wipe down the sink and toilet. To be honest, this is the one I usually skip. When I do have the time and energy it’s so helpful to have a clean toilet every day.

Afternoon Tasks

I usually hit my 3 pm slump during the afternoon, so I try to get my tasks done before that.

  • Dry and Put Away Laundry– This is the time to get that load done and out of the way. I have faith in you and believe you can wash, fold, AND put them away right away. We’ll do it together. Then you are DONE with laundry… for today.
  • Clutter Check– It is so helpful to take 5-10 minutes and clutter check your home after a busy morning. Our family room definitely gets the most use so quickly putting things away is so helpful. I have been loving our toy storage downstairs from Amazon this last week. Now, who is going to come put it all away for me?!
  • Washes Dishes From the Morning– I tackle them during the afternoon. Then the sink is free for the dinner rush.

Evening Tasks

Nighttime is one of my favorites because you get to close down your home while you wind down for bed. We are night owls here at our home, so a lot of the time it waits till the next morning. And that is OK, just remember to give yourself grace.

  • 5-Minute Hot Spot– We all have them. They are the areas in your home that attract all the clutter, papers, and stress! Take 5-10 minutes and clear one before you head to bed. I promise you’ll wake up feeling so much better.
  • Shine Sink– You know the drill, clean those dishes, and shine that sink!
  • Clutter Check– Pick up that clutter from the afternoon around your main living areas
  • Sweep Kitchen– Do a quick sweep/mop of the kitchen and make sure nothing is left on the ground.
  • Wipe Down CountersWipe those counters down and finish cleaning up that kitchen for the night. After that, the kitchen is closed!

There you have it, my daily to-do list. When I am able to tackle all these items or even just a few, I feel so much better! Nothing is perfect in our home or life, but we can choose what brings us joy and what doesn’t. Even just doing the dishes makes our home feel 90% better.

All of these spun from Fly Lady so definitely give it a try. Below I have attached my FREE printable daily to-do list to download try out in your home! Who knows, maybe this is exactly what you need. Plus, it’s pretty to look at!
