Simple Morning Cleaning Routine

When deciding what to include in your simple morning cleaning routine, it is best to choose tasks that make the biggest impact with little time. For me, those include:

  • Emptying dishwasher
  • Starting a load of laundry
  • Making the beds
  • Clearing off the counters

Once I have completed these tasks I feel like my day can truly begin. It also makes room to continue on with the rest of my daily tasks throughout the day.

Quick and Easy Cleaning Schedule

Depending on what season of life we are in, my daily morning cleaning schedule changes. And with having anxiety, a lot of mornings these tasks do not happen.

So give yourself grace and know you aren’t alone. Here is my morning cleaning schedule as of now:

  • While the kiddos are eating breakfast, I will unload the dishwasher and get everything grouped together.
  • Once they are at school, I will put everything away and load up any breakfast dishes or items left over from the provious night.
  • I start a load of laundry and normally have a load in the dryer from the night before so I will get that folded.
  • I go around to everyones beds and make sure they are good to go for the day.
  • Finally, I wipe down the counters in the kitchen as well as the kitchen table.

Once those tasks are completed, I pour myself some coffee and sit down to scroll through IG or get started on my next blog post. I know I have done a great job and allow that time to myself.

Consistent & Simple Morning Cleaning Routine

Cleaning routines don’t need to be complicated. Simple and easy routines are the best kind because you are more likely to keep up with them. If it has too many steps, I get bored and my anxiety takes over, resulting in a messy house for a couple of weeks.

You are not alone if you feel like this. Everyone does from time to time. Just do your best and everything will work out fine. As my good friend said,

The world doesn’t end just because you haven’t cleaned your house.

20 Minute Cleaning Schedule

If you are feeling stressed out about your home, set a timer for 20 minutes and see what you can get done. Even if it’s simply picking up the trash and moving dishes to the sink, that is 20 minutes of work you wouldn’t have otherwise been able to do. Well done!

When I set a 20-minute timer, these are the spots I try and hit:

  • Pick up any trash
  • Move toys to downstairs closet
  • Get dishes to the sink
  • Clear off kitchen counters
  • Pick up any loose peices of laundry
  • Start/switch load of laundry
  • Sweep the floors

Once I’ve completed those, I always feel much better.

Daily House Cleaning Products

I have finally figured out a good amount of my favorite, most effective cleaning products. I need them to work really well but to also save my wallet from exploding. My favorite places to purchase cleaning products are Target, Dollar Tree, and Grove Collaborative.
