Before you even begin to clean your bathroom you will want to remove any clutter that does not belong. This makes the process go so much quicker.

Once you’ve gotten the clutter out of the way, you will want to grab all of your cleaning products; I have my favorite products linked down below. I love keeping them all in the bathroom so when I’m ready to clean I have everything I need right there.

How-To Clean Your Bathroom Checklist

  • Gather all the needed products in one place.
  • Grab a trash bag so you can toss any trash as you go.
  • Quickly spray down the toilet with your cleaner so it has time to sit.
  • Spray your toilet bowl cleaner and let that sit as well.
  • Go along your counter and spray with your cleaner. While that is sitting, spray your glass with that cleaner and wipe down.
  • Once that is done it is trime to wipe the counters. Don’t forget the light switches and door knob.
  • Spray down your shower or tub and clean up any clutter or empty bottles. If you have glass, take some time to clean that up as well.
  • Now is the time to wipe down the toilet. Don’t forget the back and under the bowl of the toilet.
  • Swish your toilet bowl and flush. When I do this I also run the brush under the water and let it air dry between the toilet and the seat.
  • I quickly sweep the floors and run my mop through the room.
  • Replace any decor or necessary items and you are finished.

If you already have your cleaning items there, ready to go, this can be done within 5 minutes! For a busy mom and blogger, that is the best time, and sometimes the only time I have to give.

Best Cloths for Cleaning Your Bathroom

There is a big debate on whether you should use paper towels or a cloth. For me, I go back and forth between the two. It’s nice to use the cloths when my washer is empty and I can simply toss them in there right away.

But if they have to sit, I will choose paper towels.

It is also nice to be able to simply throw them away as you go. I use these microfiber cloths and have had them for about a year now. They are holding up great and the quality is amazing.

Bathroom Cleaning Hacks

Here are a few hacks I’ve picked up along the way that make the time go by quicker:

  • Keep all your products you use to clean in the bathroom under the sink. This makes it so easy if I have something quick to wipe up, or if it’s time to clean the bathroom.
  • Use bleach tablets in your toilet so whenever you flush, your bowl is getting bleached. Helps keep things cleaner.
  • Bathrooms don’t always smell the best, so I like putting a diffuser or a wall scent in the bathroom.
  • Keep it as clutter free as possible. Less to pick up equals less to clean.
  • Keep extra bags in your trash can so you can easily switch them out when finished.

FAQ’s about…

How do I deep clean my toilet bowl?

Try this: Swish a cup of vinegar around in the toilet bowl using a toilet brush, then add a cup of baking soda, followed by an additional cup of vinegar. Let the fizzing solution sit for 10 minutes. Use a toilet brush to scrub stains. Let mixture sit for a few more minutes and then flush.

How often should I clean my bathroom?

At least once a week, but don’t be so hard on yourself. Do it as often as you can.

What happens if you don’t clean your bathroom?

If you happen to “abandon” your toilet’s hygiene, then it will lead to some more significant problems down the road — such as the buildup of harmful bacteria. Additionally, your toilet may even have the potential to foster mold growth in some areas, if it’s neglected for too long.
