Healthy Sprouts Grocery Haul

Lately, I have really enjoyed buying our produce from Sprouts. The last time I ordered them from Walmart, they all had mold on them and I had to throw it all out! It was very frustrating and discouraging. I want my family to have the best options when it comes to snacks and meals, but it’s hard to do that when your groceries have all gone bad within a day or two. I decided to change things up and get our produce and main groceries from two separate stores, and it is working out so well! If you are looking for a simple way to meal plan, head on over to my Meal Planning Made Simple post for some inspiration!

Today I headed over to Sprouts Farmers Market and picked up some great options, and I’m very excited to share them with you! Where do you like to shop for groceries?

Veggies

Veggies are really popular in our house, surprisingly, so I made sure to grab a few good options. Some are for meals for the week and some are just for good ol’ snacking.

  1. Carrots
  2. Zucchini
  3. Onions
  4. Cucumbers
  5. Bell Peppers

I do have to hide the carrots though, or we’ll have none left! The kiddos are using them as Olaf Noses at the moment, and it’s the cutest thing. I also tend to hide them in things like smoothies and spaghetti sauce.

Fruits

We go through fruit like crazy, so I make sure to stock up on these! I try and encourage the kiddos to grab an apple or some strawberries first before they go for chips or something sweet. The selection today was FIRE, so I made sure to grab a bit extra.

  1. Cherries- These suckers are massive! I couldn’t even fit them in our cherry pitter.
  2. Apples
  3. Nectarines
  4. Grapes
  5. Strawberries

The first thing I do when I get home is wash my produce with my fruit and veggie soak. This cleans them so well and then they are good to go for the week. I have learned that simply rinsing them with water is NOT enough. Check out the aftermath of washing my fruits below, and tell me that that isn’t just the grossest thing you’ve ever seen! But make sure to check the label on the wash you choose so that you aren’t adding any toxins back onto your produce. I LOVE my Young Living Fruit and Veggie Soak and have been using it for quite some time. I know it’s working and it doesn’t leave an aftertaste.

Snacks

I didn’t grab many snacks this time because we stocked up at Costco yesterday, but I did get a couple of items I wanted to try out.

  1. Tzatziki Dip-Iit is SO good with cucumbers. I have been putting it in my fajita wraps and I’m obsessed.
  2. Cold Pressed Juice
  3. Hail Merry Cookie Dough Bites
  4. Wedding Cookies and Ginger snaps- Because, why not?

I also snagged a mandarin chicken dinner meal for a busy night, oat milk, vegan butter, eggs, and fajita tortillas. All in all, I think I did pretty well! Everything came out to $92 and we are set for the week. I scheduled to pick up the other half of our groceries tonight and then we can layout our meals for the week. It feels really good to know I’m giving my family healthy foods but also some yummy treats as well. We can’t just eat kale all the time! Do you shop weekly, monthly, or on an as-need basis?
